    Higher Education in Ireland

Study in IrelandFrench higher education is made of one of the world’s most diversified systems. The widely recognized quality of French postsecondary degrees rests upon a network of 3,000 teaching and research institutions of international renown. The network is composed of 90 universities, 240 higher colleges of engineering, 230 higher business schools, and 2,000 specialized postsecondary schools in art, architecture, health services, and other fields.

Ireland has a population of over four million people and it has close cultural, economic and educational links with the English-speaking world and is part of the European Union (EU) family of nations. Ireland is both European and Global in outlook - for centuries Irish people have emigrated to and settled in many countries around the globe, including Singapore, and today we welcome people from all over the world to experience Ireland.

Education has been a key factor in making Ireland one of the fastest growing economies in the world over the past decade. Government policy on investment in research and "4th level" education is the key to developing Ireland as a knowledge society in the new global economy. The IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook 2006 ranks Ireland's education system 4th from 60 countries surveyed for meeting the needs of a competitive economy. They also rank Ireland 5th for level of university education attained.

Ireland offers a diverse range of university level institutions from traditional Universities to the innovative Institutes of Technology and Independent Colleges. The third-level sector in Ireland offers a wide range of innovative courses and exciting experiences that lead to internationally recognised qualifications which can really make you stand out from the crowd.

All of Ireland’s higher education institutions provide extensive on-campus services from individual counselling and study workshops to career advice centres and accommodation offices. There are international student officers trained to deal with any queries or problems you may have. There are also numerous students clubs and societies to choose from, with activities organised both on and off campus. In addition to this all facilities boast state-of-the-art information technology facilities.

An Irish educational experience will give you the head start you need in life.
