Discover Europe 2008

'Discover Europe' is a one day event that will provide undergraduates, junior college and polytechnics students in Singapore with the opportunity to discover the political, economic and cultural importance of the European Union and how they can capitalize on the opportunities offered by the EU for their future.

There will be 3 key elements for Discover Europe 2008: 

  1. Panel Discussion : Multi-disciplinary panel featuring business leaders, senior academics and political figures discussing the topic "The Euro as the New International Currency"

    - Venue: NUS, Multi Purpose Sports Hall 4
    - Time: 11.00 am – 12.30 pm

  2. European Career Fair : Exhibition of European companies to highlight internships and recruitment programs in their companies both in Singapore and internationally.

    - Venue: NUS, Multi Purpose Sports Hall 2
    - Time: 10:00-18:00

    Career Seminars featuring topics of interest to students on career opportunities with European companies.

  3. European Cultural Pavilion by European embassies and cultural institutions.

    - Venue: NUS, Multi Purpose Sports Hall 2
    - Time: 10:00-18:00

With the support of the European Union embassies and the European business community ‘Discover Europe’ provides an excellent platform to inform young Singaporeans about the EU and its important role in the world.

This event is organized by the Delegation of the European Commission to Singapore, and the European Union Centre in Singapore, in partnership with the National University of Singapore, and the European Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the EU Member States.
