Europe Day Celebrations
Burkill Hall, Singapore Botanic Gardens

The Delegation of the European Commission and the EU member states celebrated Europe Day on Monday, 9 May at Burkill Hall in the Singapore Botanic Gardens. This marked the 56th anniversary of the "Schuman Declaration" that paved the way for the current European Union (EU). The event was hosted by the Head of Delegation of the European Commission in Singapore, Ambassador Vassilis Bontosoglou. Mrs. Yu-Foo Yee Shoon, Minister of State represented the Singapore government at the event. Entertainment was provided by French Jazz singer Guylene Harris, the Anglo Chinese Junior College Choir and drummers from the Singapore Management University. In spite of the wet weather, the beautiful setting of Burkill Hall provided a wonderful backdrop for an enjoyable evening.
